Driver training

Highlands Drive Safe is a locally owned and operated driving school in the Southern Highlands of NSW.
Murray and Sue Tyler offer:
Learner driver lessons and test preparation
Older driver assessments and lessons
Rehabilitation lessons and assessments
International license conversion lessons
Post license training
Automatic and manual lessons
Sue and Murray have worked closely with many students living with Asperger's and have added this website to help support families that are having difficulty training their teenager or older child to drive a car.
In 2012 they presented their paper on Asperger's Syndrome: The implication on driver training methods and road safety, to the ACRS National Conference on Road Safety in Sydney. The research paper explores the main issues faced by Asperger's people during their driver training years.
This webpage will continue to add content and training assistance for people with Asperger's. Your contributions are welcome. Currently, there is little information on driver training for Asperger's people. A large percentage of funding and grants are given to Autism research in early childhood to help reduce the impact of this syndrome in our community. However, many teenagers and older drivers, either diagnosed or undiagnosed face difficulty in the driver education process. We aim to change this.
